'On Paper' is Nick West’s first solo exhibition in Tokyo. Each artwork is made of or from paper. This show includes recent and previous works shown together for the first time. Consisting of a main installation, a square canvas, a series of collages, and a print, 'On Paper' brings together several ways of working to combine the process of abstraction with the possibilities of language.
The reception will take place on Friday 25th May from 6pm-8pm.
There will be an artist’s talk on Sunday 27th May from 3pm. This event is free. It will be in English.
Nick West was born in Brighton in the UK, and currently lives and works in Tokyo. He is a lecturer at Joshibi University of Art and Design, a writer for Genso, Tokyo Art Beat and Metropolis, an organiser for Canvas Artist Talks, and a member of the artist collective Art Byte Critique.
